At the start of 2023 I spent a few days in Akaroa. Nothing too adventurous but hopefully it is the start of some good travel this year. So I thought I’d do a short post on some things to do in Akaroa in summer.
- Chill out in the sun – Akaroa is a quiet little town, relax, it’s that simple.
- Chill out in the Madeira hotel – A classic example of a Kiwi pub. Come here for a pint and a meal.
- Fish and chips – You’re right by the sea. Eat fish.
- Croque madame/monsieur – Akaroa is a town with French heritage, find some French style food here.
- Nature stuff – If you must, go Dolphin watching or something. I would just chill though.
Bonus – You could be a cruise ship daytripper in white walk shorts walking around doing stuff.
